Bob Craig

One of Edinburgh’s ‘Royal High School Gang’ in 1940s and formed a famous front line with Al Fairweather and Sandy Brown. Remained in Edinburgh when Fairweather and Brown left for London in early 1950s. Own bands and spells with most Edinburgh JBs including the bands of Charlie McNair, Mike Hart, Bill Salmond etc in a 50+ year jazz career. Was a member of original ‘New Society Syncopators’ in late 1960s early 1970s in memorable front line with Ian ‘Tello’ Telford (tpt) and Dave Paxton (clt). In late 1980s teamed up with the recently returned Fairweather and Dave Paxton, thereafter mainly performed only with ‘Criterion Parade Band’.
